God’s Truth: Matthew 4: 1-4

Prayer: Thank You, Jesus, for this Scripture that tells us that the devil uses lots of temptations that appeal to every part of us. Lord, lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Thank you for this Scripture that tells us that Jesus was tempted too. Jesus withstood temptation; and we can too if we ask the Holy Spirit to help us.

Journal Questions:

1) Will I live my day resisting temptation and praising God?

2) Why not?

Reread: Matthew 4: 1-4

Action Accountability:

1) Probably not, but right not I am trusting You, O Lord, to resist the devil.

2) Because I am human and not perfected in You yet.

Closing Prayer: Lord, I know You were tempted. Lord, knowing that You were tempted helps me when I am tempted. Lord, help me to be part of Your Kingdom on earth. Help me live on every word that comes from Your Mouth.

HOW GOOD AND PLEASANT WHEN BROTHERS LIVE TOGETHER IN UNITY!

Don’t listen to the voice of the deceiver who whispers: “When was the last time you saw that?”

God’s Truth: Psalm 133:1

Prayer: Lord, It’s raining and the grass is getting green. Praise Your Name.

Lord, I have unity with my neighbors next door. Praise Your Name. Then again, I don’t talk of politics with some members of my family because I know there is no unity there. Lord, help me to know when to speak and when to keep my mouth shut. Help me to be winsome, Lord. I praise Your Name.

1) How will I be winsome today?

2) What will that sound like?

Reread: Psalm 133:1

Action Accountability:

1) With the help of the Holy Spirit, I can be winsome today.

2) It will sound reconciling rather than “I am right and you are wrong.”

Closing Prayer: Lord, I know that You say it is good and pleasant when brothers live together in unity. Lord, I want to be one of those people. Lord, change the way my mind words and thus what comes out of my mouth. Help me concentrate on the important things according to Your Precious Word.

EVERYONE WAS FILLED WITH AWE

Don’t listen to the voice of the deceiver who whispers: “Tell me about what fills you with awe today.”

God’s Truth: Acts 2: 42-44

Prayer: Not too many people live together with everything in common today.

But the fellowship of believers is definitely something we are a part of today. Help me, Lord, to be one of those believers who worships You in awe.

Action Accountability:

1) That my Savior loves even me?

2) With the Help of the Holy Spirit today, I can_________________________.

Closing Prayer: Hear my prayer, O Lord. Incline Thy ear to me and hear me even if I don’t use words. Push my steps even if I don’t know where I am going. I want to serve You in what I think, in what is in my heart, and my actions that show it.

WHILE WE WERE STILL SINNERS, CHRIST DIED FOR US

Don’t listen to the voice of the deceiver who whispers: “Are you really interested in talking about sin?”

God’s Truth: Romans 5: 8

Prayer: Lord, I am so glad that You loved me so much that even though I am still a sinner, You died for me that I might be with You for eternity.

1) How much am I living out the gift God gave to me?

2) What does that look like, exactly?

Reread: Romans5: 8

Action Accountability:

1) Only with the help of the Holy Spirit.

2) Jesus is involved in my life?

Closing Prayer: Forgive the sins of commission and the sins of omission, Lord. Know that I want to do the things I do not do – and do the things I do not want to do. Clean out the garbage, Lord, and make me whole. I give you all the praise.

SURELY THE ARM OF THE LORD IS NOT TOO SHORT TO SAVE, NOR HIS EAR TOO DULL TO HEAR

Prayer: You know, Lord, sometimes I feel You must be doing something else that You do not see me. Sometimes I feel You must be doing something else that you do not hear me. During my more (I can’t say rational thoughts) Christ directed thoughts, I know You are always near, always able to save, always listening. Thank You, Jesus.

JOHN’S BAPTISM WAS A BAPTISM OF REPENTANCE

Don’t listen to the voice of the deceiver who whispers: “It doesn’t really matter that much, does it? Who baptizes you? For what?””

God’s Truth: Acts 19: 4-6

Prayer: Dear Lord, I am glad that You provided the baptism in Your Name, different from the baptism of repentance alone. I am glad John showed the way to You, Lord. Now we can know You through baptism and become Your children by faith through the Holy Spirit.

2) What does the Holy Spirit have to do with the living of this day?

Prayer: Lord, I end a fair number of e-mail messages with “Love”. Lord, help me to live in Your Love all the day long.

1) Do I act in my Lord’s love?

1) With the Help of the Holy Spirit, I will ________________________today.

HIS COMPASSIONS NEVER FAIL – THEY ARE NEW EVERY MORNING

God’s Truth: Lamentations 3: 22-23

Prayer: I pray for those who are in grief this morning. I pray for those who are going to visit a new baby this day. Sometimes it is hard, Lord, to be in two ‘seasons’ at once. Lord, I pray Your give all Your children what they need this day.

1) How will I celebrate new life today?

2) How will I stand alongside a loved one in grief today?

1) I will pray for joy in celebration of new life…..
