IF ANYONE WOULD COME AFTER ME, HE MUST DENY HIMSELF

Don’t believe the lie of the deceiver who whispers: “Surely, God doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t have some things that are just yours. – that you shouldn’t have pleasure.”

God’s Truth: Matthew 16: 24-25

Prayer: Our Father, who art in heaven. Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done. No one thinks the best thing he ever heard was that he needs to deny self and take up a cross. Lord, help me to understand what that means in my head and heart this day.

Journal Questions:

1) What does deny self, take up my cross mean right now in my life?

2) What does lose my life in order to find eternal life mean in the living of this day?

Closing Prayer: All things are possible with You, Lord. You know our innermost being. Lord, give us Your Holy Spirit that we may come to You as Your children who have given up self to gain eternal Life. Lord, I do want to begin this day with You and end this day with You – and spend all the time in between with You. Thank You, O Eternal Provider.
